#445 Garchomp

A few days ago The Pokémon Company announced the next generation of games; Pokémon X & Y. In the spirit of Pokémon, I decided to draw up some of my favorites. Garchomp has got to be one of the coolest pocket monsters ever designed.

Snagtooth and Saberdon

Some designs I did for fun, and to try out other styles. The little one is Snagtooth and the large one is Saberdon. They are based on the saber-toothed cat and I wanted them to feel stocky. Also, they are prehistoric, so I incorporated rocks into their design.

Motion Capture Article

I recently wrote an extensive article examining MoCap over the last decade. There are videos so you can take a look and see if you come to the same conclusions.

Inuit Character Maquette

I'm glad this is finally done, and I can now start modeling my character in Maya. Building him in three dimensions has really helped me understand the translation of form from 2d to 3d.

A New Journey

Next year I will be making a film that is a reboot of my second year film. When working on an old project one needs to start fresh, that can be difficult when one has spent so much time working and polishing. Story and characters become ingrained in one's mind. This film needs a overhaul for it's own sake. I'm stripping it to the bones so I can change it from the core. Although I have spent so much time on the previous version, it is a necessary move. The time and experience spent on this film's previous incarnation will not be wasted. I learned a lot from it and now I'm ready to go full force and revamp this film and bring it to LIFE!
