Lines and Portraits
This is a selection of my life drawing work at CalArts over the last semester (Fall 09, Drawing from Real to Reel with Jon Gomez). I mostly used charcoal, with a little pastel pencil here and there. I had a lot of fun along with some frustration. Overall I am pleased with the outcome and I hope you enjoy looking at these characters as much as I enjoyed drawing them.

Coffee with a Tribesman
Okay, so over that past few weeks I have been really busy working out kinks in my story, soon it will have to go through one last major overhaul, but I know where I'm going with it, so there's that. The other night I was in a coffee shop and I met a man who turned out to be from Africa. He teaches anthropology at UCLA and CSUN for 6 months out of the year, then he spends another 6 in Indonesia, and then 6 in Africa, then he returns to the US. It was a cold evening and he had no shoes, was wrapped in cloths, and had a lot of jewelery and trinkets. Here's to him!
